SUMMARY:US OPEN Whitewater Championships
DESCRIPTION:8 a.m. – 4 p.m. \nThe U.S. OPEN canoe slalom race is a Southeastern classic. For 2024\, the Nantahala Racing Club is excited to partner with Montgomery Whitewater to host the two-day race at the nation’s newest artificial whitewater course in Montgomery\, Alabama. The 18-22-gate slalom course will be on the same section of challenging whitewater as the 2024 Olympic Trials and 2024 Junior Team Trials. \nThe event is open to anyone with intermediate to expert slalom skills and will be attended by some of the country’s top whitewater athletes\, including Olympians and World Champions. Racers will take two runs on Saturday and Sunday\, with the better run each day counting toward the overall U.S. Open score. \nThe race entry fee is $50 for the weekend and includes an event t-shirt.
