Golden Hour 5K

Sept. 1st at 7 am | All Ages | $35

The Montgomery Whitewater Golden Hour 5K is a professionally timed event open to runners (and walkers!) of all ages and abilities. The unique course will take runners through the beautiful grounds at Montgomery Whitewater, with both start and finish at the Main Breezeway Entrance. Awards will be presented to the top finishers and winners in the 5-year age groups.

Price includes a post-race beverage and race t-shirt. To be guaranteed a race shirt, you must register by August 20th.

Race packet pick-up is on Sunday, August 31st, under the Montgomery Whitewater Park Pavilion from 1-4 pm.

Races will be held rain or shine. All efforts will be made to finish the scheduled events. However, in the event of extreme inclement weather that prevents us from conducting the races safely, there will be no refunds.

Golden Hour River & Trail Triathlon

Sept. 1st at 8 am | Ages 12-17

Participants will take on a multi-sport challenge by completing a one-mile multi-terrain run, a 1.5-mile bike ride through our wooded trail system, and a 2,200-foot low-flow paddle through the Creek Channel.

Built as the next step up from the Lil’ Tri, this race features longer distances and more technical terrain—giving young athletes a true taste of adventure racing in a natural environment.

All participants receive a medal, a bandana for tie-dye, and a race t-shirt. To be guaranteed a race shirt, you must register by August 20th.

River and Trail Triathlon athletes are invited to Montgomery Whitewater’s Golden Hour Festival on Sunday, August 31st, to tie-dye their bandanas for the race! The tie-dye station will open at 1 pm. Tie-dying race bandanas is free for registered athletes. Additional t-shirts and bandanas may be purchased for friends and family to join in the fun!

Race packet pick-up is on Sunday, August 31st, under the Montgomery Whitewater Park Pavilion from 1-4 pm.

Please note that this race is not timed, and no official winner will be announced. Overall first, second, and third place finishers will be announced.

Golden Hour Lil’ Tri

Montgomery Whitewater’s “Lil Tri” puts a fun spin on the traditional triathlon by challenging young athletes to PADDLE, bike and run across the finish line. Lil’ Tri consists of a 370-yard flatwater paddle, a 704-yard bike ride, and an 880-yard run.

Montgomery Whitewater will provide all the necessary equipment for the flatwater paddle; however, athletes are required to bring their own bike and helmet. Children ages 6-10 must have an adult accompany them in the ducky (inflatable kayak) for the water portion of the race. 11-year-olds may paddle on their own.
